Patrick Bonck
A native of Washington State, Patrick has been living and working in New York since 2007. Though not prone to flights of fancy, he is working on developing the creative imagination that lives in every one of us. Nearsighted and far-ranging. Explorer and introvert. Curious and gun-shy. Know-it-all and ignoramus.

 

Karen Chamberlain

 

Karen Chamberlain
An acclaimed actor of stage and screen, Karen Chamberlain holds an MFA from Rutgers University. She taught first and second year Meisner at The William Esper Studio from 2001-2009, as well as Voice and Acting for The BFA Professional Actor Training Program, Mason Gross School of The Arts at Rutgers University from 2001-2005. Karen was the first On-Site Resident Director for The Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare's Globe, London. 2002-2003. She is currently Senior Lecturer at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia as well as active ensemble member of The Collective.

Margaret Champagne

 

Margaret Champagne
Maggie has always had a funny bone and a love for comedy going all the way back to her roots in North Carolina and it brought her to New York. Once in New York, she found herself working in film and theatre as well as the comedy circuit all over the city including Stand Up New York, Comix, Eastville Comedy Club, Upright Citizens Brigade and Caroline’s on Broadway. At the moment, fans know and love her best as the bright and sunny “Sun Drop Girl” with the best dance moves.

Victoria Dicce

 

Victoria Dicce
Founding Member, Co-Artistic Director
A California girl, Victoria moved to Seattle to study Theatre at Seattle University where she received her B.A. before arriving in New York in 2004. Victoria is a proud graduate of the William Esper Studio where she studied under Joel Rooks, Deb Jackel, Suzanne Esper & William Esper. As a Founding Member and Co-Artistic Director of The Collective, she has appeared with the company in Edward Allen Baker's Lila on the Wall, Mourning Lilly, and Happy Girl among others. When not acting, Victoria can be found with the love of her life and all-around cool guy, her dog Mack.

John D'Ornellas

 

John D'Ornellas
John is a graduate of The William Esper Studio where the wonderful Suzanne Esper turned his world upside down and Per Brahe added to the insanity with the help of Balinese mask study, Michael Chekhov and mind bending narcotics. In addition to The Collective, John is a proud member of Peta, Unicef and The Vegan Society.

 

Booker Garrett

 

Booker Garrett
Booker started her professional career at 14 as a dancer with Ballet Memphis and, after dancing with the Boston Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts and Alvin Ailey Schools she transitioned to theater at Smith College. When she moved to New York she took up with the Upright Citizens Brigade and graduated from the William Esper Studio where she studied with Joel Rooks, Karen Chamberlain, Bill Esper, Deb Jackel and David Newer. Ever the artist, in late 2008 Booker took a brief hiatus to work on organic farming, stone masonry and shadowbox artwork under pseudonym Lady Neither in her native Arkansas. She returned to The Collective in the winter of 2010 and no one has been the same since.

 

Robert Z Grant

 

Robert Z Grant
Founding Member
Robert is a founding member of The Collective and has taken on many roles with the company. Actor – Ionesco’s "The Lesson", "Me Equals This", "360"; Director – "360 - an original adaptation of La Ronde", "Someone Who'll Watch Over Me" (2010 NYIT Award Nomination);  Creative Director – Everything on this website. A trained Improviser, Robert can be found when not with The Collective in the award-winning show, “Broadway’s Next HIT Musical” around New York and across the country.

Robert is a graduate of the William Esper Studio where he studied with Bill Esper. Robert is probably best known for his anonymity.

Swann Gruen

 

Swann Gruen
Swann is a graduate of the William Esper Studio and proud member of The Collective's permanent ensemble. He has acted in a number of The Collective's productions including Gated, 360, Warning: May Contain Nuts and the company's feature film production, A LONG ROAD.

Swann has been with the Collective from the beginning and is very pleased with its growth and success. He looks forward to being of part of the company's many future endeavors but will probably not read his email.

Mike Houston

 

Mike Houston
Founding Member
Mike had been performing on the stage since his starring role as 'The Wolf' in his kindergarten's epic production of 'Little Red Riding Hood'. He received his B.A. in Political Science at The University of Colorado at Boulder. He moved to New York when he remembered he loved to act, graduated from the William Esper Studio and helped found, The Collective.

Mike can be found on stage 'The Ledge' (New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Solo Performance), to film, “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” (2009) to television, Blue Bloods, The Big C, Brotherhood, The Good Wife, Mercy, White Collar and most recently as, “Ralph” on Boardwalk Empire. He still credits 'The Wolf' as the finest moment of his career thus far.

Kevin Kane

 

Kevin Kane

Kevin is a graduate of the William Esper Studio where he studied with Bill Esper, Joel Rooks and Deb Jackel. He is also a founding member and co-artistic director of The Collective where he has acted in and directed numerous productions since its inception as well as in film and TV. He was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor for his performance in The Collective’s production of “Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me” in 2010 (New York Innovative Theatre Awards) and like George C. Scott would have refused the award if he received it.

Lisa Kicielinski

 

Lisa Kicielinski
Lisa K. earned a BHA from Carnegie Mellon University and an MFA from The Actors Studio at NSU. She's traveled from Tribeca to Dublin on behalf of independent films and their stories. Lisa's many roles include, Angie in "Happy Girl," part of The Collective's IED Series, and Managing Director for the company. Lisa is also a writing consultant, Steelers loyalist, Olympics fan and believes that in the current electronic age, live, human storytelling is more important than ever to connect people.

 

Nina Mehta

 

Nina Mehta
Nina is an actor, writer and producer in New York but a Jersey girl at heart.  She has been rumored to be found on stage and screen but is probably best known to her friends and family as the surly teenager in “Finding Priya a Prom Date” (2008). In addition to acting, Nina is a regional board member for the non-profit Indego Africa. You can find her experimenting with fonts, drinking green tea and creatively named cocktails, writing about pop-culture.

A graduate of the William Esper Studio, Nina studied with Terry Knickerbocker, a decision or happy accident that she is forever grateful for.

Khalil Muhammed
Khalil is a native of New Jersey and began pursuing his acting career in 2004 with his stage debut as Cougar in Happy Birthday Madam Alberta (Cherry Lane Theatre). Some of his other theatre credits include Six Degrees of Separation, A Soldier’s Play, The Religious Hour, A Soldier’s Death and Ruined. Some of his independent film roles include The Rubix, The Gallery, Gifted and A Playa’s Web . Daniel O'Shea
A man of many lives, Daniel is a proud member of The Collective and has performed at the Joyce, 29th Street Rep., La Mamma Etc., Theater for the New City, The Puerto Rican Travelling Theater and The Connelly Theater inhabiting characters from the works of Shakespeare, Chekhov, Pinter and O’Neill to Eric Overmyer and Craig McNulty. His film and TV career spans classics such as, “Streets of Gold”, “Hamburger Hill”, “State of Grace” and most recently - HBO's, "Boardwalk Empire".

Amy Schumer

Amy made her network debut in 2007 on NBC’s "Last Comic Standing" where she placed 4th. Her blend of wholesome, girl-next-door looks and edgy comedy has earned her a rapid rise in the comedy world.  In 2011, she filmed the feature, "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" starring Steve Carell and Kiera Knightley as well as the independent feature, "Price Check" opposite Parker Posey. Amy has performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, was featured in Vanity Fair’s Comedy Issue and can be seen in the upcoming season of in HBO’s “GIRLS”. In 2011, Amy also released her album "Cutting", which in its opening week was in the top 5 of the Billboard charts. But perhaps the most exciting news of all is her upcoming sketch comedy series, “Inside Amy Schumer” which will air on Comedy Central in Spring of 2013 featuring her unique sense of humor and fulfilling one of her lifelong dreams.
