NEWSLETTER - Week of July 31st, 2017 - DOUBLE ISSUE

1 // IF YOU DO ONLY THREE THINGS THIS WEEK...

  • REACH OUT WITH A TEN-MINUTE PLAY CHALLENGE TO AT LEAST ONE POTENTIAL NEW VOICE FOR THIS YEAR'S C:10 ---
SUBMISSIONS DUE BY AUGUST 16 (TWO WEEKS FROM NOW)

In the interest of expanding the stories we can tell and the communities we can engage, we would like to make one final TARGETED push to invite playwrights in your network with diverse, unique perspectives and stories to submit short plays in the hopes of making a connection. Please do not broadcast a call for submissions. Contact specific people you want to personally invite to submit.

As always, plays should be truthful, behavior-driven and active. Human. Essential. Inclusive.

We are interested in making connections, regardless of whether specific submissions are ultimately selected. And, we can provide a space for new voices and audiences beyond C:10. No final programming decisions have yet been made about this Fall's productions. And this targeted call for additional submissions is not a judgment about our long-term writers, nor the quality of the plays that have thus far been submitted. It is purely an opportunity to grow our network and our perspectives in pursuit of our mission of access and inclusion.

Have your contacts send YOU any submissions, and then, after you have read the pieces yourself, forward on to Sayra any plays you would like to put into consideration. If you don't feel a particular play is right, we are still interested in developing relationships with writers who you feel we should have on our radar.
